Paul Debevec is an Emmy- and Academy Award-winning researcher and pioneer in computer graphics, currently serving as Fellow, Content Production Research at Netflix. He is best known for developing HDR Image-Based Lighting, Photogrammetry, Light Stage Facial Scanning, and LED Volume technology seen in landmark films including The Matrix, Spider-Man 2, Benjamin Button, Avatar, and Gravity. Also an Adjunct Research Professor at USC, Debevec remains a leading voice in visual effects innovation and computational photography. He is a Visual Effects Society Fellow and serves on the Board of Governors of the Television Academy and the AMPAS Visual Effects Branch Executive Committee.
