Biography
Guillermo is Associate Professor in Data Visualization at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and part of the Data Visualization Group of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). His research focuses on the development of data visualization pipelines, and cinematic scientific visualization.
He develops workflows that integrate visual analytics and high-performance computing to create interpretable and efficient visual outputs, including scientific films, interactive dashboards, and infographics. His work aims to enhance the communication of complex phenomena through data-driven storytelling, with applications in engineering, biomedicine, environmental modeling, or social data analysis. Over the years, he has co-authored several data-driven scientific documentaries and films, showcased in international conferences and festivals.
He holds an MSc in Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media, and an MA in
Computer Animation, as well as a BA in Fine Arts.
