David Thornton is a computer science professor with 22 years teaching experience. He was a 2023 Fulbright Scholar at Graz University of Technology in Austria, teaching game development and virtual reality while implementing new AI-supported speech control features for an educational physics simulation. Dr. Thornton created web-based gamification tools for high school and university curricula, used in over 40 schools in 7 different countries. He is currently working on research and software development funded by the Secret Service. His interests include virtual reality, multimodal and speech-enabled interfaces, and AI-supported software development.
