Shirley Wu is a Chinese-American artist-engineer and data visualization designer living between San Francisco and Tokyo. Born in the Philippines and raised across China, Japan, and the United States, she creates kinetic data installations that translate migration, identity, and belonging into physical and participatory experiences. Her work combines computation with tactile materials—often water, ink, and paper—using time-based processes to make systems felt at a human scale.
