Presenter

Nattasha Shrestha is a kids and YA screenwriter who uses her southeast Asian heritage to craft stories that cut close to the bone. Having grown up internationally in over 5 different countries and continents, she brings a unique, bold, and distinctly vulnerable approach to storytelling. Her goal is to celebrate both the unbridled and hidden emotions that tie us all together on screen.

After graduating from the University of British Columbia and the Vancouver Film School, she has been a story editor for numerous shows in development, feature films and writing programs such as Reelworld, CBC, Bell Media, Amazon MGM and the Black Screen Office. Her first pilot won the VAFF x Bell Media Series Development Competition, launching her to develop 3 of her own shows for teens and kids with respective production companies each. She is a recent graduate of the Canadian Film Center’s Comedy Story Intensive.
