Weidi Zhang is a new media artist, designer, and Assistant Professor of Immersive Experience Design at Arizona State University. Her interdisciplinary research explores speculative assemblages at the intersection of immersive media, data visualization, and interactive AI art. Zhang’s work has received international recognition from ACM SIGGRAPH, Red Dot, Prix Ars Electronica, Asia Pacific Design, and the Lumen Prize. Her installations have been presented at leading new media art venues, such as ISEA, Times Art Museum, Artechouse NYC, FILE, V2_Lab, MUTEK, Zeiss-Planetarium, and others.She holds a Ph.D. in Media Arts and Technology from UC Santa Barbara, and an MFA from CalArts,.
