Takuya Funatomi is a Professor at the Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University. He was an Associate Professor at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) from 2015 to 2025, and a PRESTO Researcher at the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) from 2020 to 2025. He also served as an Assistant Professor at Kyoto University from 2007 to 2015, and was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Stanford University in 2014.
He received his B.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Informatics from Kyoto University in 2002, 2004, and 2007, respectively. His research interests include computational photography, 3D model processing, computer vision, computer graphics, and pattern recognition. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
