Samir is a Computer Graphics specialist who focuses on using visual effects to support a production’s narrative and evoke emotion. He was the Visual Effects Supervisor on the 2019 Chinese blockbuster The Wandering Earth, which earned over $700M at the Chinese box office and featured complex environments such as a subterranean city, ice-covered Beijing, and outer space settings. His other credits include True Detective: Night Country, Lift, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and most recently Warfare and The Witcher Season 4, where he contributed to delivering complex visual effects that enhance the scale and atmosphere of the series.
One of his proudest achievements is the iconic opening sequence of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 featuring dancing Baby Groot—a nearly four-minute continuous shot requiring complex animation, FX destruction, lighting, and camera work.
