The Making of Sentinel: How AI Infrastructure Tools are Reshaping Film Production
DescriptionSentinel, an upcoming stop-motion feature film by Academy Award-winning visual effects and animation pioneer Phil Tippett, will serve as a lens for exploring a surreal alternate universe within a soldier's mind during World War I. Drawing on Tippett's legendary visual storytelling virtuosity, the project reflects an agentic AI-first production workflow and creative process where ideas evolve through exploration and experimentation. In this talk, the artists behind Sentinel discuss how story, intuition, and collaboration guide the work, and how their partnership with LOFTAPPS' LOFTai AI infrastructure platform helps manage assets, provenance and resources while preserving creative intent as the film takes shape.
