Frontiers Workshop: CTRL-G: Controllable Generative Graphics for Games
DescriptionThe CTRL-G (Controllable Generative Graphics for Games) workshop explores the critical intersection of generative AI and interactive game development. While generative models are transforming content creation, the central challenge for games remains control: steering these models in real time to align with player intent, production pipelines, and artistic requirements.
This three-hour session brings together AI researchers, graphics/VFX professionals, and ethicists to address two core themes: developing controllable world models—such as adaptive, player-responsive environments—and evolving game engine education to incorporate these new hybrid workflows. By bridging technical innovation with production realities and ethical considerations, CTRL-G aims to define a practical agenda for integrating generative AI into modern game engines. Participants will gain actionable insights into state-of-the-art techniques, integration challenges, and the pedagogical shifts necessary to prepare the next generation of developers for an AI-augmented industry.
