From Splats to Worlds: Advanced 3DGS Applications
Description"Gaussian splatting has rapidly evolved from a novel radiance field reconstruction technique into a versatile foundation for real-time rendering, volumetric media, and spatial computing. This BoF session brings together researchers, engineers, and industry practitioners to explore the progression from 3D to 4D Gaussian representation.
Discussions will cover compression; animated Gaussian splatting; volumetric media from capture through distribution; 3DGS as a building block for world models bridging neural scene understanding with real-time engines; and the potential for 3DGS as a real-world archival format.
Come share progress, surface interoperability challenges, and help align where the ecosystem is heading.
