Description“Stuck in the Middle” is a participatory performance-installation where participants literally wear a conflict between two clashing AI voices. Five pairs of shoulder-mounted wearables embody familiar cultural binaries: good/evil, happy/sad, male/female, rich/poor, fast/slow. With a press of a button, each device captures an image of the participant’s surroundings and sends it to GPT in real-time. The two opposing voices start arguying on what the wearer should or shouldn't do. The work asks what it feels like to be continuously nudged by AI advice, how might LLMs amplify cultural binaries, and whether agency can emerge in the uneasy space in-between.
